Day of Mindfulness June 21, June 22 Dharma Teacher at Queens Sangha

The Community of Mindfulness Inspired by the Teachings and Practice of Thich Nhat Hanh invites you to enjoy a Day of Mindfulness Solstice Saturday June 21, 2008 , at Riverside Church, 19-T. 10-4:oopm
"Solstice" is derived from two Latin words: "sol" meaning sun, and "sistere," to cause to stand still. This is because, as the summer solstice approaches, the noonday sun rises higher and higher in the sky on each successive day. On the day of the solstice, it rises an imperceptible amount, compared to the day before. In this sense, it "stands still." (googled)At this Day of Mindfulness let's stand and sit together as the sun of mindfulness rises, sharing the stillness of the moment.
Please arrive a bit before 10 am so that we may begin together enjoying sitting meditation, walking meditation- in and out doors- Five Mindfulness Trainings, mindful eating (outdoor picnic, weather permitting), deep relaxation, Dharma sharing, singing ... -
Please bring your own vegetarian bag lunch Please, refrain from wearing fragrances to protect those with environmental allergies.
