Happiness in the Present Moment: A Day of Mindfulness December 21

Community of Mindfulness New York Metro
Practicing in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh

 invites everyone to

A Day of Mindfulness

to share

Happiness in the Present Moment -
Recognizing the conditions for happiness all around us
and strengthening our capacity for receiving them and offering them to others

Saturday, December 21, 2013
 10 am - 4:30 pm

The Wellness Center
The Riverside Church
91 Claremont Avenue, Manhattan
north of 120th Street and west of Broadway

We will enjoy sitting, walking, singing, and eating meditations
as well as mindful movements, total relaxation, tea meditation, and Dharma sharing.
Please bring a vegetarian lunch which we will enjoy around 12:30 - 1:30 pm.

We are also invited to bring a song or a poem to share during tea meditation in the afternoon.

No experience necessary. Chairs and cushions will be provided.
Our day will be facilitated by Linda Anderson and Nina Teng.
We will enjoy a fragrance-free environment.

“.......We are aware that happiness depends primarily on our mental attitude and not on external conditions,
and that we can live happily in the present moment simply by remembering
that we already have more than enough conditions to be happy."
-  the Seventh of The Fourteen Mindfulness Trainings

“If we want to fully enjoy life's gifts, we must practice mindfulness at every turn,
whether we're brushing our teeth, cooking our breakfast, or driving to work.
Every step and every breath can be an opportunity for joy and happiness.”
-  Thich Nhat Hanh, Happiness
