Day of Mindfulness August 15, 10-4:30pm, Riverside Church

Dear Friends,

Our August Day of Mindfulness is Saturday August 15, 10-4:30pm, at Riverside Church, room 8-T. The Day will be led by Ishmael, of the Riverside Sangha, and Walter, who practices with the Morningstar Sangha and Riverside Sangha [Queens and Manhattan.]

There is a Day of Mindfulness this Saturday, August 15, 10-4:30pm, at Riverside Church, room 8-T. The Day will be facilitated by Ishmael Wallace and Walter Lyons. Ishmael practices with the Riverside Sangha and Walter with the Morningstar Sangha [Queens] and the Riverside Sangha.

Over and over Thay [Thich Nhat Hanh] instructs us to practice mindfulness of breathing and this will be a focus of the Day: in sitting, walking, eating, dharma sharing and so on. Sometimes we may be calming and resting in the breath; sometimes the breath is supporting us in staying present with a difficult feeling or in looking deeply. Or we may look into the impermanent and interbeing nature of the breath [and 'the breather'].

The Day includes sitting and walking meditation; eating together in mindfulness; dharma sharing; walking outside [weather permitting]; mindful movements and more.

Chairs and cushions available; bring a vegetarian lunch for yourself; please do not wear fragrances.

Beginners Welcome.
Riverside Church is between 120-122nd St. at 91 Claremont Avenue, one block west of Broadway. Contact ishmael.wallace@gmail.com with any questions.
