Decolonizing the Mind:

Touching the Heart of Compassion

Mind is a field in which every kind of seed is sownWhether transmitted by family, friends, Society, or education, (seeds) are by nature, both individual and CollectiveIndividual and collective give rise to each other.TNH, Understanding Our Mind

An Exploration with Dharma Teacher Lyn Fine

Co-created by the Deepening White Awareness and Mindful Peacebuilding Sanghas

Lyn's passion is learning ways to build

truly inclusive and loving community.

Born in 1944 and raised in New York City in an Ashkenazi Jewish family with roots in Germany, Russia, and Latvia, Lyn was ordained in 1989 into the Order of Interbeing in Plum Village, France, and in 1994 received Lamp Transmission as a Dharma Teacher from Thay in Plum Village. Lyn is a founding member of ARISE (Awakening Through Race, Intersectionality and Social Equity) and co-founded the Community of Mindfulness/NY Metro and the Mindful Peacebuilding Sangha. She is committed to understanding the roots of systemic oppression in ourselves, our communities, and our societies, in order to heal and trans-form the legacy of this suffering into compassion, understanding and love in action.

When Lyn is not offering meditation coaching and retreats, she enjoys being with family, making music with friends, learning languages, walking slowly among the redwood trees, listening to the rain, and innovating programs for Mindful Peacebuilding, a Berkeley-based nonprofit which encourages engaging societal challenges with the energy of mindfulness. She sits with the 14MT online Sangha, and co-facilitates the Deepening White Awareness, Jewish-Buddhist, and Mindful Peacebuilding Sanghas.

🧺 DANA 🧺

Offering Dana is a practice of generosity and gratitude from the heart. The teachings are freely given. Aware that an integral part of our Mindfulness Practice is supporting our teachers in continuing to offer the practice for the benefit of others, we reflect on our circumstances and ask ourselves, What may be not too little and not too much for me to offer at this time?
